Strikingly original, harmonically rich pieces. Giovanni Maria Trabaci is very free in his notion of a galliard, like Brade with the pavane. Written in a recognisably Neapolitan style (somewhat similar to the dances published in EML 242 ↣ ), this is quite different from the north Italian music that we know rather better today.
