Giovanni Priuli is a real discovery: every one of his instrumental pieces is really strong, but the specially good news is that they are all different.
This canzona comes from Sacrorum concentuum Ioannis Prioli (Venice, 1618). It is the only seven-part instrumental piece in the collection, which contains four six-part pieces and a larger number of eight-part works, all of which are printed in this series.
