Ascanio Trombetti was a cornetto player in the Concerto Palatino of Bologna. His book of motets of 1585 contains pieces that work beautifully on wind instruments. Some are labelled “da concert”, meaning they are for a mixture of singers and instruments.
Translation:
They have taken away my Lord and I do not know where they have put him.
The Angels said to her: Do not weep, Mary
He has risen as he said: he will go before you into Galilee.
There you will see him,
The Angels said to her: Do not weep,
Do not weep, Mary. He has risen as he said:
he will go before you into Galilee.
There you will see him,
Alleluia.
