This piece has 2 high parts, probably originally for violins, pitted against a 5-part wind section.
This work comes from Grillo’s Sacri Concentus ac Symphoniae, published in Venice in 1618. Like the Sonata Prima à7 ↣ (ADC51), it is not strictly speaking a double-choir piece, but in seven real parts, however we did not want to separate these two rather interesting pieces from the eight-part works by Grillo, all of which appear in this ADC series.
