The Paduana printed here is based on the English ballad, tune ”Rowland’, sometimes known as ‘Lord Willoughby’s…, which was popular in Germany (other settings found in our TM51↣, and a magnificent long canzon by Samuel Scheidt in MP7↣).
Haussmann was quite eclectic in his interests, and often included English, and occasionally Italian, tunes in his dance, books.
You can find a nice pavan on ‘Go from my window’ in EML 225v↣.
