John Adson (c. 1587 – 1640) was an English musician and composer. Early in his career he was in service to Charles III, Duke of Lorraine as a cornett player.

Subsequently he moved to London and joined The City Waits (London), a post he held for the rest of his life. In addition he played and wrote for the theatre, being associated with the King’s Theatre Company. In 1633 John Adson became a royal wind musician.

His best-known works are his Courtly Masquing Ayres (1621), a collection of 31 dances in five and six parts.
