One of Mozart’s trios for basset horns is reworked for three recorders (Alto, Tenor and Bass recorders)
This “Divertimento” has been assembled from the set of twenty-five pieces originally composed by Mozart around 1783 for three bassett horns. Strangely enough, the original version for bassett horns has not survived, and the modern editions of the same have had to be transcribed from the version for two clarinets and bassoon published by Simrock after the composer’s death. At around the same time other arrangements of the trios were published, for instance one for two violins and cello and one for three flutes.
